Descrizione
The Powerpixel8 RGB is a very powerful LED fixture based on eight 30W RGB COB LED modules. Not only do these LED modules produce proper light output, they also allow for colour blends that are comparable to those of halogen bulbs. Additionally, you reap the benefits of low energy consumption, little heat development, a long product lifespan and colourful projections. The Powerpixel8-RGB is perfect as a light source, but also as a practical light effect if you use it as a blinder or to run creative chases.
Components Inside the Powerpixel8-RGB
The Powerpixel8-RGB is fitted with potent COB LED modules that consist of clustered red, green and blue LED modules. Since these LEDs are so close together, they create a homogenous beam of targeted light. The internal reflector then perfectly directs the light for a seemingly traditional, halogen-style light effect. Moreover, this technology also prevents colour shades. The fixture's 60-degree beam angle ensures a wide projection in which you can clearly see the individual light beams.
Using the LED Bar
You can use the Powerpixel8-RGB in several ways. Use several of them to create a matrix in front of your DJ booth, for example, or spread them out over the stage floor to create more depth. Thanks to smooth colour blends, the built-in dimmer and strobe functions, you can go all out when sculpting creative chases. Additionally, you can control each module separately via DMX. However, for more straightforward use, you can let the Powerpixel8-RGB run a music-controlled mode, an automatic program or a fixed position.

LICHT
De tandjes, wat komt hier een bak licht uit! De kleuren zijn mooi en verzadigd, en het net-niet-netjes-wit is voor een RGB-oplossing ook prima te noemen. Een hele sjieke functie is de witbalans, zodat alle armaturen op zijn minst allemaal hetzelfde net-niet-netjes-wit hebben. De lamp heeft een brede stralingshoek, ideaal om mee te washen.
BEHUIZING
De behuizing lijkt echt héél veel op die van zijn neefje bij Eurolite, en het zou me ook niets verbazen als die (deels) uit dezelfde fabriek komen. Acht identieke modules met elk een eigen afdekplaatje zijn netjes naast elkaar geschroefd in een metalen balk. De voet is degelijk, maar misschien ook wel iets te lomp om 'm handig in je truss te hangen.
Achterop vind je een Powercon in- en uitgang, en zowel drie- als vijfpolige DMX-aansluitingen. Je krijgt een kort Powercon-kabeltje bijgeleverd. Daar kan stroom doorheen, maar daar is het dan ook wel mee gezegd. Desalniettemin fijn als je meteen aan de slag wilt.
BESTURING
Door het duidelijke schermpje achterop is dingen instellen een eitje; geen gehannes met rare codes, maar gewoon kunnen zien wat je aanpast. Naast de vele en nog best nuttige ingebouwde chases kun je de verschillende DMX-modi selecteren, maar ook de dimmer-curve aanpassen, de witbalans regelen en instellen wat de lamp doet als hij geen DMX meer binnenkrijgt. En als je knopjes indrukken te veel moeite vindt, dan kun je nog altijd gebruikmaken van RDM.
CONCLUSIE
Een heel degelijk apparaat met een enorme bak licht dat ook nog eens lekker aan te sturen is. Eventueel minpuntje is de afmeting van de voet, en het hoge pieptoontje bij sommige mengkleuren. Vervelend in een stille omgeving, maar absoluut geen probleem in de natuurlijke habitat van deze lamp. Aanrader!
